The video of a fan breaking the TV set isn’t after India vs Pakistan World Cup 2019 match

On Facebook, many users are posting a video claiming that a Pakistani fan has broken the TV set after their team lost to India in the recent World Cup match. Let’s try to check the veracity of the claims made in the post.

Claim: Pakistani fan breaking TV set after their team lost to India in the recent Cricket World Cup 2019 match.

Fact: The video shared is an old one. Since 2015, it has been in circulation with many versions. So, the claim that the video is after India vs Pakistan match in the recent World Cup 2019 isFALSE.  

When the video in the post is run through InVid Plugin, many keyframes of it were obtained. When the keyframes obtained were used to do Google Reverse image Search technique with a filter “Tv set broken”, then a certain keyframe directed to the link of a YouTube video with the title “Pakistan out and Angry fans break TV..Cricket World Cup 2015”. On looking for the date of its upload, it was found to be March 20, 2015.

In YouTube, when searched with the keywords, “Pakistan fans break TV sets” then the same video with the title “Pakistani fans breaking TV after the Champions League match” was found and the date of its upload is June 4, 2017.

On looking further, the same video was found with the title “Bangladeshi fan reaction after loosing match with India” and the date of its upload is March 27, 2016.

The actual context of the video is not ascertained, but one thing is for sure that it isn’t after the recent World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
