Fact: The man in the video is Vikas Mahante, PM Modi’s lookalike, at a Navratri event in Mumbai. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE
On conducting a reverse image search using the video’s keyframes, we came across posts on different platforms alleging that the individual in the video was Prime Minister Modi (here, here, and here). Some responses under an X post included screenshots identifying the person as Vikas Mahante. The setting and the outfit worn by the man in the screenshots showed a resemblance to those in the viral video.
Subsequent research led us to Vikas Mahante’s social media profiles (here and here) where he shared videos and photos from a Navratri event that was held in Kora Kendra, Mumbai recently.
In further research, we learned that Vikas Mahante is an actor who played the role of Modi in Films. Also, there are no official reports about PM Modi playing Garba.
