Claim: Sudanese model ‘Nyakim’ has entered the Guinness book of records for having the darkest skin tone on Earth.

Fact: The ‘Guinness World Record’ does not monitor records for ‘skin tone’. The news about Sudanese model Nyakim Gatwech entering the Guinness book of records is ‘fake’. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Nyakim Gatwech is an American model of South Sudanese descent. She has attracted attention for her dark skin colour and has achieved significant popularity on Instagram. We visited the website of the ‘Guinness World Records’ to check if it monitors the records based on ‘skin tone’, no information was found. On Twitter, ‘Guinness World Record’ replied to a tweet that it does not monitor records for skin tone. The user (@iChopTweets) to whom ‘Guinness World Record’ had replied, also tweeted saying that he had even contacted Nyakim Gatwech regarding the news and stated that it is a ‘misinformation’. The user even attached the screenshot of his conversation with Nyakim Gatwech in his tweet.

To sum it up, the ‘Guinness World Records’ does not monitor records for ‘skin tone’. The news about Sudanese model Nyakim Gatwech entering the Guinness book of records is ‘fake’.
