Fact: The video shared in the post is a clipped one. Priyanka Gandhi, during a rally in Solan on 14 October 2022, made an election promise to the youth that their government will put emphasis on providing employment and said that a special fund of six hundred eighty crores will be sanctioned for providing interest-free loans to the youth who were willing to set up start-ups. Initially, Priyanka Gandhi had misstated the numbers, but she immediately corrected herself and stated that it is six hundred eighty crores that will be sanctioned for providing interest-free start-up loans. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
When we searched for this video using relevant keywords on the internet, we found an extended version of the same video on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress Party (INC). INC published this video on 14 October 2022, reporting it as the visuals of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s speech at a rally in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh.
From 15:44 minutes of the video, we could see Priyanka Gandhi saying, “सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि हमारा पूरा जोर रोजगार दिलवाने में जाएगा और साढ़े…छे सौ अस्सी करोड़, छे सौ अस्सी करोड़ का स्टार्टअप फण्ड बनवायेग। जो नव जवान अपनी छोटी सी अपना छोटा सा व्यापर शुरू करना चाहता हे, स्टार्ट अप करना चाहता हे, उनको शुन्य प्रतिशत ब्याज पर लोन मिलेग। और इस के लिए अलग सा फण्ड मिलेगा।” (when translated from Hindi to English: “The most important thing is that our full emphasis will be on providing employment and a special fund of one & a half, rupees six hundred and eighty crores, six hundred and eighty crores will be sanctioned for providing zero interest loans for youth who were willing to establish start-up enterprises.”). Priyanka Gandhi had initially misstated the numbers, but she immediately corrected herself and stated that it is six hundred and eighty crores that will be sanctioned for providing interest free loans for start-ups.
