Claim: Ben Garrison, an American Cartoonist, has drawn a cartoon targeting the Indian National Congress party’s rule

Fact: Ben Garrison issued a clarification from his official Twitter handle ‘@GrrrGraphics Cartoons’ that he never drew any cartoons on Indian Politics and the cartoons with his signature doing rounds were fake. Hence the claim is False

When the photo in the post is searched using the Google reverse image search technique, it was found that several versions of the pic are in circulation on social media since the past 2 years.

One version of the pic claims that Ben Garrison has drawn a cartoon targeting the Indian National Congress party. Another version of the pic claims that Ben Garrison has drawn a cartoon depicting the status of India during the BJP’s ruling.

BOOM has traced the pic and found that the picture was first put up by Amal Medhi in his Facebook account. He depicted the Modi government’s flagship program “Make in India” in it by showcasing that the Foreign Investors are benefiting from it, leaving nothing to the people of India. This cartoon of Amal Medhi was later on photoshopped by some people to propagate their ideology during the elections.

Hence, the political cartoon criticizing the Indian National Congress party isn’t by the American Cartoonist Ben Garrison and the original cartoon had some other content.
