This video is being shared in connection with the alleged leak of the police constable exam paper, implying that Yogi assured a re-examination specifically for the police constable exam. Fact: The video shows Yogi Adityanath assuring UPTET aspirants of a re-exam in response to a paper leak incident that occurred in 2021. Despite recent allegations of a paper leak in the UP police constable recruitment exam, the authorities and the state police department have denied the claim, asserting that no such leak occurred. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
The viral video does depict Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledging a paper leak and the subsequent reconduct of the exam; however, it is an old video and is unrelated to the recent allegations of police constable paper leak.
Since the viral video displays the ‘Aaj Tak’ logo in the top right corner, we conducted a keyword search that directed us to the original video posted on Aaj Tak’s official YouTube channel. This video is more than two years old, specifically posted in November 2021. According to the report, Yogi Adityanath discusses the paper leak related to the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET).
According to additional reports on the issue, Yogi Adityanath made this statement during a public meeting in Deoria after attending several development programs. Furthermore, he reiterated the assurance through a tweet. In his Hindi tweet, he stated “the state government is standing with the candidates of UPTET. The re-examination will be conducted in a transparent manner within 01 month. No additional fee will be charged from any candidate. The candidates appearing for the examination will be given free travel facility in commuting @UPSRTCHQ buses.”
Hence, all these reports confirm that the viral video is associated with the 2021 UPTET paper leak matter. Meanwhile, the recent police constable examination has been tainted by allegations of paper leak. However, the relevant state authorities and the police department have unequivocally denied these allegations. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has reassured aspiring candidates that there is no irregularity and that exams are proceeding smoothly. Through its official social media channels, the UPPBPB has refuted the false information and urged the public not to disseminate misleading details.
