A video through a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that the visuals are from the recent Ram Navami celebrations in Mumbai. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Recent video of Ram Navami celebrations in Mumbai.

Fact: The video is old and not a recent one. The visuals are from Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Mandal Ganapati Visarjan in 2019. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

When the viral video is seen clearly, a white cap with a logo like Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Mandal was found.

When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video with relevant keywords, the same video was found in a Facebook post uploaded by Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Mandal on 02 April 2020. Hence, the video is old and is not part of the Ram Navami celebrations in 2022. According to the Facebook post, the video is shared as part of the Ram Navami celebrations in 2020 in Mumbai. However, due to a nationwide lockdown in April 2020, it would not have been possible for such a large gathering. Moreover, Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Mandal which is in Maharashtra largely does Ganapati Visarjan with large crowds every year. The Visarjan video from 2021 can be seen here.

The Quint had reached out to a committee member of Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Mandal, who confirmed that the viral video is from 2019’s Ganapati Visarjan.

Some of the visuals of Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Visarjan in 2019, which are similar to the viral video, can be seen here and here.

To sum it up, an old video from a Ganapati Visarjan event is shared as Ram Navami celebrations in Mumbai.
