A post with several disturbing images is being shared widely on Facebook claiming that they belong to recent events in Kashmir. Let’s try to check the authenticity of the images posted.
Claim: Photos of the present situation in Kashmir.
Fact: The photos are old ones relating to various incidents. And, one photo is not that of India. They resurfaced on social media after the amendment of Article 370 in Kashmir. Hence, the claim that the photos posted depict the present situation in Kashmir is MISLEADING.
When the photos in the post are subjected to reverse image search technique, they are found to be old photos.

This image was found in a WordPress article of “sweetneha.wordpress.com” dated May 12, 2009.
Image-2:
This image was found in a WordPress article of “sudhan.wordpress.com” dated February 2, 2011. The Police in the photo is not Indian Police.
Image-3:
This image was found in a WordPress article of “kumarsushilkumar.wordpress.com” dated December 27, 2012.
Image-4:
This image can be seen in the blog “fashion786pk.blogspot.com”. It was published in September 2016.
Image-5:
This image can be found in the article “avaxnews.com” that reported about ‘Kashmir Violence’. From the article, it was found that the image was clicked in August 2016.
To sum it up, old images are being shared as those of recent events in Jammu and Kashmir.
