Fact: Twitter suspended the account of Donald Trump on 08 January 2021. The name of his official Twitter handle was @realDonaldTrump. The screenshot of the tweet in a viral post is of a tweet made by a parody account, @TheUltGmr. Donald Trump’s account has not been reinstated. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
After SpaceX & Tesla CEO Elon Musk took over Twitter, speculations about Donald Trump’s suspended account getting reinstated began on the internet. The viral post is also being shared in the same context. To confirm if Twitter truly reinstated his account, we ran a keyword search on the internet and were led to a tweet with the content shown in the viral post.
The tweet was made by a Twitter handle named @TheUltGmr, which reads, ‘Thank you, @elonmusk! Feels great to be back. Hope all the haters and losers have missed me!.’ This is a parody account whose Twitter bio reads, ‘we do a little trolling. (this is a parody) Smash players love me.’ This clearly means that it is just a parody profile of Donald Trump.
