Claim: Visuals showing deceased Hindu women in Bangladesh who were sexually assaulted and murdered by Jamaat-e-Islami terrorists.

Fact: The video does not depict any incident from Bangladesh. It shows the aftermath of a tragic accident in Madhubani, Bihar, where four girls drowned in a water-filled ditch while bathing after Holi celebrations on 14 March 2025. Police confirmed the incident was accidental, with no criminal involvement. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

An internet search using relevant keywords yielded no credible news reports about such an incident occurring recently in Bangladesh. We then conducted a reverse image search using keyframes extracted from the viral video. This led us to an extended version of the same video, uploaded by local and digital media outlets (here, here & here), which identified the footage as originating from the Madhubani district of Bihar, India. According to these reports, the video shows an incident where four girls tragically drowned on 14 March 2025, during Holi celebrations. The video also depicts visible colours on the hands and bodies of the deceased women and others on the spot.

Taking a cue from this, we further investigated and found news reports (here, here, and here) detailing the incident. According to these reports, on 14 March 2025, four girls, including two sisters, drowned in a water-filled ditch in Dahila village, under the Arer police station area in Madhubani district, Bihar. The incident occurred when the girls attempted to bathe after celebrating Holi, and they tragically drowned. The deceased were identified as Kajal Kumari, Chanda Kumari, Nibha Kumari, and Annu Kumari. Their bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital in Madhubani, police said.

To confirm the authenticity of the viral video, we contacted SHO Nidhi Kumari of the Arer Police Station. She confirmed that the video indeed depicts the incident from Madhubani, Bihar, and clarified that the deaths were accidental, ruling out any criminal involvement.

To sum it up, the video from Bihar, showing the tragic drowning of four girls, is being falsely shared with the claim that it depicts Hindu women murdered by Islamic terrorists in Bangladesh.
