An old video of Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu dancing at a family wedding is being shared amid the recent IndiGo fiasco

IndiGo faced its worst-ever operational crisis in December 2025, cancelling over 4,500 flights in a single week due to pilot shortages and new crew rest regulations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across the country. The chaos triggered public backlash and government intervention, with fares being capped and route cuts announced, as the airline said it aims to stabilise operations by 10 December 2025 (here, here, here and here). In this context, a video (here, here and here) has gone viral on social media showing Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu dancing. It is being shared with the claim that while passengers were stranded during the IndiGo crisis, the aviation minister was dancing. Let’s find out the truth behind this video.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The viral video shows Union Civil Aviation Minister dancing during the IndiGo flight crisis, implying he was celebrating while passengers were stranded.

Fact: The video is old and dates back to July 2025 and shows the minister dancing at a family wedding celebration in Andhra Pradesh, as reported by multiple media outlets. While it is true that passengers were stranded at airports during the Indigo fiasco, this video is old and has nothing to do with current developments. Hence, the claim is MISLEADING.

To find the truth, we performed a reverse image search, which led us to the same dancing video uploaded by the ABN Telugu channel on 30 July 2025, months before the IndiGo fiasco. This clearly indicates that the video is unrelated to the recent flight disruption.

Further research led us to multiple news reports featuring the same video of Rammohan Naidu, confirming that the incident took place in July 2025 (here, here, here and here). According to media reports, the translated Telugu text in the video description states that Naidu was dancing during the sangeet ceremony of his uncle Prabhakar’s son’s wedding, held at a resort in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

The Government of India’s fact-check unit, PIB, has also clarified that this video has no connection with the recent IndiGo crisis. All this evidence confirms that the video is old and completely unrelated to the airline disruptions.

Additionally, we also conducted a keyword search to learn about the Union Civil Aviation Minister’s stand on the IndiGo issue. His statements in the Rajya Sabha and an interview with India Today clearly show that he held IndiGo fully responsible for the nationwide flight chaos, stating that the airline mismanaged pilot planning under the new FDTL rules. He further emphasised that the government has not bowed to any pressure and assured that strict accountability and corrective action will follow (here, here and here). IndiGo has now reportedly stated that it expects operations to stabilise by 10 December 2025.

To sum up, an old video of Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu dancing at a family wedding is being shared as visuals from an event amid the recent IndiGo fiasco.
