To know more details about the viral video, we conducted a Google reverse image search using keyframes from the clip. This search led us to a video featuring the same visuals, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the official handle of India Today NE (Northeast) on 04 August 2025. According to the caption of this video, the viral footage is from Assam.
Further search led us to a news report titled “Assam: Chairs go flying as panchayat meet turns violent in Doboka, several injured”, featuring visuals from the viral video, published by ‘India Today NE’ on 04 August 2025. According to this news report, a village-level meeting convened at the Jamuna village Panchayat in Doboka, Assam, turned violent following a heated altercation between the relatives of an elected panchayat representative and a group of local residents. The clash reportedly stemmed from disputes related to past allegations of corruption and administrative irregularities.
Media outlet ‘North East Live’ also telecast the visuals from the viral video, reporting that they were from the Jamunamukh Gram Panchayat office in Doboka, Hojai district, Assam. From this, it is evident that the viral video has no connection to Bihar, as it originates from Assam.
In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, AIMIM won five seats. The elected MLAs were Akhtarul Iman from the Amour constituency, Syed Ruknuddin Ahmed from Baisi, Shahnawaz from Jokihat, Mohammad Izhar Asfi from Kochadhaman, and Mohammad Anzar Nayeemi from Bahadurganj. Except for Akhtarul Iman, the remaining four MLAs defected from AIMIM and joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in June 2022.
