Gangster Chandan Mishra was shot dead inside the ICU of Paras Hospital in Patna on 17 July 2025 while out on medical parole. The high-profile killing triggered widespread public and political outrage over Bihar’s law and order situation. As the investigation progressed, police arrested eight accused, including the prime suspect Tauseef, in a joint operation with Kolkata Police. Two more suspects were later injured and captured in an encounter, while the search continues for the remaining attackers (here, here and here).
Amid this backdrop, a video (here, here, here and here) went viral showing four injured men being paraded by police, with the claim that they were suspects in the Chandan Mishra case.

Claim: The viral video shows the accused in the Chandan Mishra hospital shooting being paraded by police.
Fact: The video is actually from Rajasthan and shows police parading the accused persons in the murder of a liquor contractor in Bansur. It predates the Chandan Mishra hospital shooting in Bihar and is unrelated to it. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
A close analysis of the video showed that the vehicles bore Rajasthan registration plates, not those of Bihar. A reverse image search led us to the same video uploaded by Indian Express News on YouTube on 30 June 2025, over two weeks before the Chandan Mishra shooting. The Hindi caption stated that the footage showed the police parading four accused in the murder of a liquor contractor in Bansur, Rajasthan.
We found another instance of the video posted on the Instagram handle samacharkotputli on the same date. According to the caption, liquor contractor Sunil was murdered in broad daylight on 24 June in Bansur. The police apprehended four suspects after an encounter in Harsora forest, during which all were shot in the legs. Weapons were recovered, and the accused were later paraded publicly. The main accused, identified as Krishna Pehlwan (Wrestler), remains at large.

Further reports (here, here and here) mentioned that the accused had opened fire on police during the operation, prompting retaliatory action in which all four were shot in the legs. A separate case was registered for the attack on officials, and a ₹50,000 reward was announced for the absconding gang leader, Krishna Pehlwan. These details clearly establish that the viral video is related to the Bansur case in Rajasthan, which occurred in June 2025, and is not connected to the Chandan Mishra hospital shooting in Bihar.

To sum up, a video of murder accused paraded in a shooting case in Rajasthan is falsely shared as related to the Chandan Mishra hospital shooting in Bihar.
