In this context, a video (here, here, here, and here) showing several youths beating a man standing through a car’s sunroof is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows a man being assaulted in Mathura for protesting against the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s Yatra. Through this article, let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

A reverse image search of the viral video led us to a clearer and extended version of the same clip, shared on Facebook by a user from Gaya, Bihar, on 04 November 2025. The caption of the video stated that it was from Mathurapur. Upon closely observing the viral footage, we noticed a signboard for a coaching institute named ‘Sarvottam Classes’, with its address mentioned as Mathurapur. Using this clue, we geolocated the location seen in the viral video on Google Maps. From this, it is evident that the incident took place in Mathurapur, Bihar.

Taking this as a cue, we conducted a relevant keyword search and found multiple news reports about the incident (here, here). According to these reports, the incident took place on 27 October 2025, when four bike-borne assailants allegedly beat up a car driver named Ramjeet Kumar in the Guraru Police Station area of Gaya district and robbed him of ₹60,000. On that day, Ramjeet Kumar, a resident of a village under Koch Police Station, was returning to Mathurapur from Rafiganj when the accused stopped his car and attacked him. Following the incident, an FIR was filed at the Guraru Police Station against four local youths identified as Prince Kumar, Arun Kumar, Bhola Chandravanshi, and Vinay Chandravanshi.

We then contacted Guraru Police Station for further details. Speaking to us, an official from the station said, “On 27 October 2025, a group of youths stopped a car in Mathurapur Bazar, alleging that the driver, who appears in the viral video, had hit a motorcycle and fled. They subsequently attacked the driver. Ramjeet stated that the incident occurred near Mathurapur Bazar, Gaya, where the assailants allegedly followed him for nearly six kilometres and hit his car from behind, which led to a dispute. He further added that although an FIR has been filed, no further action has been taken yet, and the case is still under process.
