A man named Adnan was caught and thrashed by the woman seen in the viral video for following her and making inappropriate comments. The video of the woman slapping Adnan almost 14 times in 50 seconds went viral on social media. Post this, the Kanpur police have taken Adnan into custody.
Tweeting about this incident on ‘X,’ the police posted a video byte of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anwarganj, on 26 February 2025. In this tweet, they mentioned the name of the culprit as Adnan, son of late Abdul Mabud, who is a resident of Bajaria police station.
According to the police, Adnan is mentally ill and undergoing treatment for the same. This information makes it clear that the man who harassed the woman in the video is not a Hindu, which contradicts the viral claim.
