A video (here, here, and here) featuring political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor is being shared online, claiming that he threatened to harm the Kushwaha community if his party, Jan Suraaj, came to power. This is being shared in the context of the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. In the video, we can see him saying, “people of the Kushwaha community…‘ye manao ki Jan Suraaj kisi tarah na jeethe..agar jeetha toh tumhari khair nahi hai’ ” We will fact-check that claim through this article.

Claim: The viral video shows Prashant Kishor threatening the Kushwaha community with consequences if his party wins in the upcoming 2025 Bihar elections
Fact: This is a doctored video; Prashant Kishor did not make this statement thretening the Kushwaha community. The video was made by stitching together two separate parts of an interview, removing the original context. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
Firstly, we noticed a watermark on the viral video that reads ‘V.C.-City Post Live.’ Taking this as a hint, we conducted an internet search using relevant keywords and found an interview with Prashant Kishor on City Post Live’s official verified YouTube channel. This video was uploaded by them on 30 September 2025 with a title that translates to ‘PK bombards Samrat – says just now it was a firecracker, now we will explode a bomb…’

This video (archive link) contains the statements made by Prashant Kishor in the viral video. The first line of the viral video, where Prashant Kishor says ‘Kushawha samaj ka admi..’(“a man from the Kushwaha community”) appears at 26 minutes 01 seconds into this video.
The next bit, where he says, ‘ye manao ki Jan Suraaj kisi tarah na jeethe..agar jeetha toh tumhari khair nahi hai’ (“Please pray that Jan Swaraj does not win, and if it does, you will be in trouble.”) appears at the 27 minute 20 seconds mark.
These two bits are stitched out of their context to make it look like Prasanth Kishor was threatening the people of the Kushwaha community. Additionally, we can clearly see a cut after the first sentence in the viral video, which suggests that it has been edited.
Coming to the context of these statements, Prashant Kishor made the first statement at 26 minutes 01 seconds while talking about the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, who allegedly did not even hesitate to kill a person from the Kushwaha community, who considered him as their leader. Then the host says that if someone launches a protest against any leader, people of his caste take to the streets, whether the allegations are true or false. However, no one came to oppose you.
To this, Prashant Kishor says, ‘Why would a person from the Kushwaha community protest against me? Did I make a false allegation? Is it not true that the people who were murdered belong to the Kushwaha community? (Kushawha samaj ka admi, kyun road par aayega, kya aarop galat lagaya hai? Kya, jin logon ki hatya ki gayi hai wo kushwah samaj ke nahi the?)
He made the second statement at the 27-minute and 20-second mark as a response to the host, who says ‘You will be the CM face for Jan Suraaj, right? If your government is formed, you won’t give it to someone else!’
Responding to this, he said ‘… Just now, you were threatening me that if tomorrow the NDA wins, you will have a big problem; now you have started making me the CM. You should understand the situation: if Jan Suraaj becomes the CM, what will happen to Samrat Chaudhary? You’re threatening me; you should understand that I’m already telling people that these corrupt leaders and officers should start doing as many puja, paath, and aarti. Do whatever puja you want to do, celebrate Navratri properly. Please pray that Jan Suraaj does not, and if he does, you will be in trouble. Whatever you have looted, known or unknown, everything will be recovered from you.’
This makes it clear that two unrelated statements made by Prashant Kishor in this interview were edited together to make it look like he made threatening remarks against the people belonging to the Kushwaha community by saying he would not show mercy on them if his party wins in the Bihar elections.
To sum up, a digitally edited video is falsely shared, claiming Prashant Kishor threatened the Kushwaha community ahead of the Bihar polls.
