These are the 36 sites from India in the World Heritage List

With ‘Historic City of Ahmadabad’ getting into the list of World Heritage sites, the number of such sites in India has reached 36. Here is a look at the 36 sites.

During the 41st session of the ‘World Heritage Committee’, one of India’s two nominations, ‘Historic City of Ahmadabad’ has been added to the World Heritage List.  This is one of the 3 sites added during the 41st session. With this addition, the number of sites from India in the World Heritage List has gone up to 36. India is 06th on the list of countries with the most number of sites in the list. Italy leads with 53 sites followed by China with 52 sites. Here is the list of the 36 sites from India.
