Fact: The video shared in the post is related to an incident that took place in Odisha in 2018. In 2018, locals of Puri attacked a petrol pump for dispensing less fuel to the customers. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the screenshots in the posted video, we found similar videos were shared on Facebook during 2018. These can be watched here and here. In their posts, it is referred as an incident happened in a petrol pump in Puri. Using these keywords when we searched for additional information, it is found that local people of Puri attacked a petrol pump for dispensing less fuel than what was paid by the customers. According to the article published by Odisha bytes, this incident took place on 29 September 2018.
When the same video was shared with a false narrative in 2018, Kumbharapada police clarified to fact-checking portal BOOM that locals attacked that petrol pump on allegations of dispensing less fuel to the customers.
To sum it up, an incident that took place during 2018 is falsely shared as public attacking a petrol pump in protest of the continuous hike in the prices of petrol in the recent days.
