Following the 22 April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, escalating tensions along the Line of Control (LoC). Both sides reported intensified cross-border firing and armed forces operations, leading to military and civilian casualties (herehere, and here). After days of attacks from both sides, a ceasefire agreement was reached through high-level military and diplomatic talks on 10 May 2025. However, Pakistan reportedly violated this agreement within hours of its announcement. Pakistani drones were sighted and intercepted in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, as well as regions of Gujarat (herehere).

Amidst this, a video (here, here, and here) discussing India’s growth over the past 10 years is being circulated on social media, claiming that American TV channels are telling the whole world about what India is doing. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: American TV channels are telecasting video that discusses India’s growth over the past 10 years amid India-Pakistan tensions.

Fact: The video was uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘World in Details’ on 23 February 2024. According to the description, it was created to showcase the modern and beautiful side of India to the world, aiming to promote tourism and investment in India. The channel’s About section states the creator is based in India, with no evidence linking the video to any American or international media outlets. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

An internet search using relevant keywords did not yield any evidence of American media outlets broadcasting these visuals. However, a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the same video, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘World in Details’ on 23 February 2024.

In the video description, the creator stated that the purpose of the video was to highlight the modern and beautiful aspects of India to the world, to promote tourism, and to attract investment to India. Additionally, the channel’s description indicates that the creator is based in India. Moreover, there is no mention of any affiliation with U.S. or international media outlets, nor any indication that the video was sourced from them.

Reports by various international media outlets highlighting India’s economic progress can be found here and here. Additionally, a video made by U.S.-based Bloomberg on India’s rise as a global economic power can be seen here.

To sum up, an old, unrelated video is being shared as American media telecasts India’s growth story amid India-Pakistan tensions.
