A video (here and here) is going viral on social media claiming to show a Muslim man cooking food using sewage water, with many users sharing it as a real incident. Let’s find out the truth behind this video.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The viral video shows a Muslim man cooking food using sewage water.

Fact: The video is AI-generated, not real. It contains the Sora AI watermark. Further, the actions in the clip are unnatural, the original uploader confirmed it was created using AI. AI-detection tools also identified it as AI-generated. Thus, the claim is FALSE.

To verify the truth, we closely examined the viral clip and identified multiple red flags. The video includes a “Sora AI” watermark, which is an artificial intelligence tool used to generate videos from text prompts (here and here). We also observed unrealistic details: the man lifts a heavy biryani vessel effortlessly as if it weighs nothing, and the biryani ladle moves in a stiff, unnatural manner. These are common signs of AI-generated visuals and indicate that the video is not from a real incident (here and here).

We also noticed a watermark at the end of the clip reading “@dark.wab48.” When we searched this username online, we found the same video posted on the TikTok account @dark.wab48. In the description, the creator clearly stated that the video clip was generated using AI.

Further, to confirm whether the viral clip was created using AI, we analysed it using the AI-content detection tool Hive. The tool classified the video as 99.9% AI-generated. Combined with the other inconsistencies, this confirms that the viral clip is entirely AI-generated and does not show any real event.

To sum up, this viral video allegedly showing a Muslim man cooking food with sewer water is AI-generated.
