Through this article, let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Fact: This viral video shows an incident that took place in Faridabad’s Shyam Colony, under the jurisdiction of the city Ballabhgarh police station, on 03 November 2025. According to police and media reports, the man who stalked and shot at a 17-year-old girl is Jitendra, alias Jatin Mangla. Speaking to Factly, Inspector Shamsher Singh, SHO of the city Ballabhgarh police station, confirmed that both the victim and the accused are Hindu; there is no communal angle in the incident. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
To learn more about the viral video, we conducted a relevant keyword search on the internet. This search led us to multiple news reports (here, here) about the incident, some of which carried key frames from the viral video. According to these reports, a 17-year-old Class 12 student was on her way home from the library when she was shot by a man in Faridabad’s Shyam Colony on 03 November 2025. These reports also stated that one bullet struck her shoulder while another grazed her abdomen. The victim’s condition was described as stable, and an FIR was registered at the City Ballabgarh police station.
According to news reports (here, here, here, here, and here), Faridabad Police have identified the man who allegedly stalked and shot the 17-year-old girl as Jitendra, alias Jatin Mangla (30), and arrested him on 05 November 2025. Reports further state that during police interrogation, Jatin Mangla confessed that he fired at the victim in a fit of rage after she refused to speak to him. When a Crime Branch team took him to recover the weapon—a country-made pistol used in the attack—the accused allegedly pulled out the pistol, which had been hidden beneath a heap of stones, and opened fire on the police. In response, the police fired back, injuring him in the left leg. Two cases have been registered against Jitendra, alias Jatin Mangla (30): one at the City Ballabgarh police station on 03 November 2025 for attacking and shooting the minor girl, and a second FIR at the Sector 58 police station for attempting to murder police personnel.
Additionally, we contacted the City Ballabgarh police station. Speaking to Factly, Inspector Shamsher Singh, SHO of the Ballabgarh City police station, confirmed that both the victim and the accused are Hindu, and that there is no communal angle to the incident. On 06 November 2025, Faridabad Police also posted a press statement regarding the case on their official X account.
