Claim: Singer Lata Mangeshkar has passed away.
Fact: This news first went viral on 24 January 2022 when Lata Mangeshkar was recovering in the ICU. However, she passed away on 06 February 2022.
When we searched for news regarding the alleged death of Lata Mangeshkar, no such news reports were found. As there were speculations about her death in the last week, a health update was given through the official Twitter and Instagram accounts of Lata Mangeshkar on 22 January 2022. An update from Dr Pratit Samdani (Breach Candy Hospital) clarifies that she “is showing positive signs of improvement from earlier and is under treatment in the ICU”. Also, in the tweet, there is a request to stop disturbing speculations.
