The results of the Bihar Assembly elections were declared on 14 November 2025. In this election, the BJP-led NDA alliance secured 202 of the 243 seats. Following the results, opposition parties raised concerns about the Election Commission’s impartiality, alleging that it favoured the BJP and enabled vote theft (here and here).
In this context, a video (here, here, and here) showing a woman speaking to the media is going viral on social media. In the video, the woman can be heard saying, “Hmm, a question to think about. You think, everybody thinks, that it is a loss. I think many things are blatantly clear, okay? Many things are very clearly visible. If there is an independent candidate and they are receiving zero votes, did they not even vote for themselves? Hmm, a question to think about. Let’s think. Everybody should think about what has happened. Why should I say it? Everybody should think, right? Everyone has a brain. I have said my part, whatever I wanted to say. So, you are saying that the government made a mistake? Okay, fine. Since you are saying it, I accept it. You are telling me this, so I accept it. The government committed irregularities. And who is at the Centre? Hmm. Good question.” (Translated from Hindi to English.) The claim accompanying the video suggests that the woman featured in it contested the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections as an independent candidate and received zero votes. Through this article, let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of a woman who contested as an independent candidate in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections saying that she received zero votes.
