A viral video (here and here) shows visuals of CCTV footage in which two children are seen walking with a woman, when a dog attacks one of them. It is being claimed that the incident took place in Rohini, Delhi. Let’s find out the truth behind this video.

Claim: The viral video shows a dog attacking a child in Rohini, Delhi.
Fact: The video is actually from Pattaya, Thailand, and dates back to June 2022. It has no connection to Delhi. Hence the claim is FALSE.
To find the truth, a reverse image search was performed on Google, which led to the same video uploaded by a Thai news channel called Amarin TV. The channel had reported the incident as part of a news segment and titled it (translated from Thai): “Pitbull drags foreign child by the neck, nanny stands by watching, owner shocked while opening trash can – 21/06/65.”
To learn more about the incident, a Thai-language keyword search was conducted, which led to several local news reports (here, here, here and here). According to Thai media outlets, on 21 June 2022, a CCTV video went viral showing a 4-year-old boy — the son of a foreign worker — being attacked by a dog in a residential area in Pattaya, Thailand. The dog escaped when its owner opened the door to throw out trash. The family who shared the clip clarified that it was meant as a warning, and the matter has since been resolved between the child’s father and the dog owner.

A comparison of a few keyframes from the viral video and the actual incident clearly shows that both are from the same incident, confirming that the viral clip is not from Rohini, Delhi, but from an earlier incident in Pattaya, Thailand.

Additionally, we searched for any recent reports about a dog attack on a child in Rohini, Delhi, but could not find any. An Instagram page of the Rohini community has also debunked this claim.

To sum up, an old video of a dog attacking a child in Pattaya, Thailand, is falsely shared as an incident from Delhi.
