A video (here, here and here) is going viral on social media showing a massive rally with Palestinian flags, claimed to be from a pro-Palestine demonstration in Japan. Let’s uncover the truth behind this video.

Claim: The viral video shows a massive pro-Palestine rally in Japan.
Fact: The video is AI-generated, and does not show real visuals from Japan. Analysis using SynthID and Hive confirmed it was likely AI-generated. While genuine pro-Palestine protests have taken place in Japan, this video is unrelated to those events. Hence, the claim is MISLEADING.
Upon closely reviewing the video, we found several inconsistencies. The distribution of the crowd appears illogical, with an unnaturally uniform human density and no gaps or variations in movement, features that contradict the realistic nature of actual demonstrations and those which are common in AI-generated videos.
A reverse image search led us to the original upload, which turned out to be a blend of two clips posted on the TikTok account hassan_morningstar (here and here), an account that exclusively shares AI-generated content.

To determine the authenticity of the video and whether it was AI-generated or a deepfake, we analysed it using SynthID and Hive. SynthID identified it as AI-generated, while Hive indicated a 98.4% likelihood of being AI-generated. Based on this evidence, it is clear that the video is artificially created.

Additionally, protests have indeed taken place in Japan, one reported in July 2025 in support of Gaza to stop the genocide, and a more recent one opposing the starvation in Gaza. However, the viral video has no connection to any of these protests.

To sum up, an AI-generated video of a massive protest is shared as showing a pro-Palestine rally in Japan.
