DECODE (English) | S1E7 – How to make sense of the Affidavit filed by Contesting Candidates?
In the 7th episode, we discuss about the affidavits filed by contesting candidates. The affidavit in Form-26 contains the following details
- Details of the ITRs filed in last 5 years of Candidate, Spouse &
Dependents - Details of pending criminal cases and cases in which convicted
- Details of movable assets like cash, deposits, shares, vehicles,
policies, jewelry etc. of Candidate, Spouse & Dependents - Details of immovable assets like agricultural land, non-agricultural
land, residential buildings, commercial buildings of Candidate,
Spouse & Dependents - These assets should include both domestic & foreign assets
- Liabilities & dues to public institutions
- Contracts if any with government agencies
- Sources of Income of Candidate & Spouse
- Profession of Candidate, Spouse
- Candidate’s Educational qualification
