Claim: The viral video shows scuba divers discovering a 5,000-year-old Sri Maha Vishnu temple in the sea off Bali, Indonesia.

Fact: This video is AI-generated and was originally posted by an artist account, @mbaiarts, on Instagram. There is no credible evidence supporting the existence of such an ancient temple in the Bali Sea. Hence, the claim is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we performed a reverse image search using keyframes from the video and found the same clip posted on Instagram by the page @mbaiarts on 09 April 2025. The viral video even carries this username as a watermark. According to the caption, the visuals were created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The account, Mb AI Arts, which identifies as an artist, features several other AI-generated videos. Its profile bio reads, “Divine Creations in Pixels, Exploring the beauty of Hindu gods through AI art,” indicating that the content is digitally created for artistic expression.

To verify if the video was AI-generated, we used the Hive app and ran the video through it. The result showed a 99% likelihood that it was AI-generated, further confirming that the video is not real.

As for the claim associated with the viral video, we searched the internet using relevant keywords to verify the existence of a 5,000-year-old Sri Maha Vishnu temple in the Bali Sea, Indonesia. However, no credible news reports or evidence supporting this claim were found.

In fact, a similar video went viral earlier, claiming that a scuba diver discovered a 5,000-year-old Hindu temple in the Pemuteran Sea. We had fact-checked that video as well, confirming that it actually shows statues from an underwater temple garden. This site was artificially created in 2005 as part of a community project called ‘Reef Gardeners’.

To sum up, an AI-generated video is being falsely shared as footage of a 5,000-year-old Sri Maha Vishnu temple in the sea off Bali, Indonesia.
