Fact: This is a fraudulent website. Economic Offences wing of Cyberabad Police termed a similar news as fake. Earlier, D-Mart also issued an advisory through Facebook, asking its customers to not believe in any offers apart from those available on their official website and D-Mart Ready App. Also, D-Mart was founded in the year 2002, which means it will turn 20 in 2022. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
This is a fraudulent website, as the URL of D-Mart is different from the original website, which is www.dmart.in. Google search with relevant keywords led us to a tweet by the Economic Offences wing of Cyberabad Police which termed a similar post as fake. The tweet rated the offer as Ponzi and categorically warns public that clicking on the website link would lead to theft of personal & financial information by cyber criminals.
Further, as per the information available on the official D-Mart website, it was founded in 2002, which means it will turn 20 in 2022. With this, we can infer that the claim made in the post is false. When the same message went viral earlier in February 2021, news articles reported the news as fake and asked the public to ignore such messages.
