A video of armed forces demonstrating combat skills is being widely shared on social media claiming that it shows the Indian Army. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: Visuals of Indian Army’s demonstration combat skills.
Fact: Visuals belong to a South Korean Military demonstration at 69th Korean Armed Forces Day celebrated on 28 September 2017. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
We ran a Reverse Image search on the Keyframes extracted from the viral video clip and found a similar video uploaded on ‘Arirang News’ YouTube channel on 28 September 2017. The title of the video says, “Korea’s 69th Armed Forces Day ceremony”.
We then compared the visuals of both the videos and found that the viral video is an accelerated zoomed-in version made by combining multiple visuals (from 1:38:24 to 1:39:06) of the original video. Also, Korean flag can be seen on the arm of a demonstrator in both videos.
Even though Indian Military conducts demonstrations during various occasions, the viral video is not related to Indian Army.
To sum it up, the visuals of South Korean Military Demonstration at 69th Korean Armed Forces Day are shared as that of Indian Army’s.
