A video through a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that Hindu extremists are killing Muslims in India. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of Hindu extremists killing Muslims in India.

Fact: The video is from Pakistan and not from India. The visuals are from a petrol bunk blast in Karachi which reportedly happened because of a short-circuit in an electric room nearby. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When a reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, the same video was shared by several Twitter users. They can be seen here and here. These users mention these visuals to be from a fuel station blast in Nazimabad, Karachi.

When we searched online using relevant keywords, a video with similar visuals was found uploaded on YouTube by GTV Network (a Pakistan-based news channel) which says the visuals are from a blast in Karachi.

On 29 October 2021, an explosion near a petrol pump in Karachi had killed at least four people and injured several others. According to Pakistani news websites (here and here), a short-circuit inside an electric room near the petrol bunk had resulted in the explosion.

When the same video went viral attributing it to communal violence in Tripura, Factly had earlier debunked the claim.

To sum it up, a video of a petrol bunk explosion in Pakistan is falsely shared as Hindu extremists killing Muslims in India.
