Unrelated images are being falsely shared as those of Babri Masjid

Couple of images are being widely shared on social media claiming those to be the pictures of Babri Masjid. They can be seen here and here. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Images of Babri Masjid.

Fact: While the first image is of Muslims offering prayers at Jama Masjid in New Delhi, the second image is of Jamia Masjid in Gulbarga, Karnataka. None of these images are related to Babri Masjid. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Image-1:

When reverse image search is done on the image, the same image was found in a photo gallery published in 2008 by India Times. According to the caption below the image, Muslims were offering prayers on Eid al-Adha festival at Jama Masjid in New Delhi. The exact location of the place can also be found using Google Maps. A website even posted different images of the place in New Delhi where Muslims were offering their prayers. This can be seen here.

Image-2:

This image is a collage of two pictures. The second picture (lower image) is actually the image of security manning the site of the Babri Masjid in the city of Ayodhya.

When reverse image search is done on the first picture, the same photo was found in an article published on the Britannica website about Kalaburagi city. According to the article, the picture shows the view of Jamia Masjid in Gulbarga, Karnataka. Kalaburagi is also called Gulbarga, which is in Karnataka. When we searched in google with relevant keywords, a similar photo was found on the stock photo website, Alamy. On this website also, it is mentioned that it is Jamia Mosque in Gulbarga.

To sum it up, unrelated Images are being falsely shared as images of Babri Masjid.
