President Droupadi Murmu did not speak about restrictions on individual freedoms, secularism, or challenges faced by minority communities in her original address on ‘Samvidhan Divas’ (Constitution Day) on 26 November 2025. The audio in the viral video was added using an AI-generated voice and is not part of her speech. An AI voice-analysis check also indicates that the audio is artificially generated. We then conducted a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the original video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the President of India on 26 November 2025. It shows President Murmu addressing the nation on ‘Samvidhan Divas’ (Constitution Day) in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. In her speech, the President praised Parliament for upholding the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. She highlighted achievements such as lifting 250 million people out of poverty, social justice reforms including the abolition of triple talaq and repeal of Article 370, women’s empowerment through the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, and the replacement of colonial-era laws with justice-focused legislation. She also commended increased democratic participation, particularly among women and marginalised communities, and expressed confidence in India’s progress toward becoming a developed nation, while honouring constitutional architects like Dr. Ambedkar and Sardar Patel. However, the video does not show her expressing concerns over restrictions on freedom of expression, the right to protest, civil liberties, or the weakening of secularism, as claimed in the viral clip.
We also reviewed the full transcript of her speech, but found no evidence that she made such comments. This confirms that the viral video has been digitally manipulated.
