Amid the political heat, a war of words has erupted between Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Kishan and Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate from Chhapra, Khesari Lal Yadav. Meanwhile, an alleged video of actor Sonu Sood is circulating on social media (here, here, and here) with claims that he has publicly extended his support to Khesari Lal Yadav in the Bihar elections.
In the viral video, Sonu Sood can allegedly be heard saying, “I heard that Khesari Lal Yadav is contesting the election from Chhapra, and many people are opposing him. So, I want to tell them, who are you to oppose anyone’s decision? You went where you felt comfortable, and Khesari went where he felt comfortable. Khesari Bhai is in the right place. I stand with Khesari Lal and wish him all the best in winning the election. Everyone else is with you. Don’t worry about listening to people like these; you are doing very good work.” Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

Fact: The audio in the viral clip is externally added. In the original video uploaded on Sonu Sood’s Instagram account on 25 October 2025, he can be seen delivering a philosophical message about kindness, with no reference to politics or any political endorsement. There are no reports about the actor publicly supporting Khesari Lal Yadav’s candidature. The Hiya voice analysis tool also flagged the viral clip as a deepfake. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Upon reviewing the viral video, we noticed that Sonu Sood’s voice and lip movements do not match, indicating that the audio was likely added externally.
We also did not find any credible news reports or social media posts showing that the actor has publicly supported Khesari Lal Yadav’s candidacy.
A reverse image search of key frames from the viral video led us to the original video posted on Sonu Sood’s Instagram account on 25 October 2025. In that video, he delivers a philosophical message about kindness and sharing, stating, “Someone said something remarkable: If you have more than you need, don’t build bigger walls, but bigger tables so that more people can eat with you. Because sharing increases love and reduces sorrow. The world will change if you and I hold hands. So, when you have more than you need, try sharing it. Try sharing your greatest joys with someone. Then see how the world changes.” At no point does he mention Khesari Lal Yadav or endorse his participation in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Suspecting the video to be AI-manipulated, we analysed it using the Hiya voice detection tool, which flagged the audio in the viral video as a deepfake.
