This viral Navbharat Times postcard, allegedly quoting Jagadguru Rambhadracharya on Brahmins conceiving children, is fabricated

An alleged Navbharat Times postcard attributed to Jagadguru Rambhadracharya is going viral on social media (here, here, and here). The postcard contains controversial statements claimed to be made by Rambhadracharya. It reads, translated from Hindi to English: “We are Brahmins. We possess the power to conceive without sexual intercourse. After marriage, we can conceive without sexual intercourse through tantra, mantras, and siddhis.” Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: A Navbharat Times postcard quotes Jagadguru Rambhadracharya as saying that Brahmins can conceive children without sexual intercourse using tantra and mantras.

Fact: The Navbharat Times postcard attributing a statement to Jagadguru Rambhadracharya that Brahmins can conceive children without sexual intercourse using tantra and mantras is fabricated. The original post carried a statement by Jagadguru Rambhadracharya criticising West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Navbharat Times has clarified that the postcard was altered. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify whether Jagadguru Rambhadracharya really made such a statement, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. However, we found no credible reports or reliable information indicating that he made any such remarks. If he had indeed made such a statement, it would likely have received widespread media coverage, but no such coverage was found.

We then reviewed Navbharat Times’ Instagram handle and found a similar post dated 09 December 2025. The colour, style, and placement of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya’s photo are identical to the viral postcard. However, the statement attributed to him is completely different. The original NBT postcard features Rambhadracharya criticising West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. It reads, translated from Hindi to English: “I can no longer call Mamata Banerjee my sister. Now she is the sister of traitors like Jaichand, Mansingh, Mohammad Ghori, Genghis Khan, and Mahmud Ghaznavi, not ours.” This makes it clear that the viral postcard was tampered with by replacing Rambhadracharya’s original statement with a fabricated one. The comparison can be seen below.

We also found a post dated 12 December 2025 in which NBT clarified that the viral Navbharat Times postcard, quoting Jagadguru Rambhadracharya as saying that Brahmins can conceive children without sexual intercourse using tantra and mantras, is fake.

To sum up, this viral Navbharat Times postcard, allegedly quoting Jagadguru Rambhadracharya on Brahmins conceiving children, is fabricated.
