A video (here, here and here) showing Indian Army personnel allegedly crying and speaking from a war zone, claiming that the Pakistani Army is dangerous and asking to be rescued, has gone viral on social media. The video has been widely shared as a genuine incident by Pakistani social media handles (here, here and here). Here’s the truth behind it.

Claim: The viral video shows Indian Army personnel in a war zone saying that the Pakistani Army is dangerous and asking to be rescued.
Fact: The video is AI generated and not real. Several inconsistencies were found, including incorrect Indian tricolour placement on uniforms that do not exist in any Indian Army attire. AI detection tools, Hive and Deepfake-o-meter, also flagged the video as AI-generated. Hence the claim is FALSE
To uncover the truth, we closely examined the video and identified several inconsistencies. For instance, in the first clip, while an army personnel is speaking, the uniform collar displays the Indian tricolour. However, the flag appears incomplete; one side shows the correct colours, while the saffron stripe is missing on the other side of the shirt.
Further examination revealed that the tricolour on the collar is not present on any known Indian Army uniform. We reviewed both duty uniforms and combat uniforms, but none feature the tricolour along the edge of the collar (here, here and here). The PIB recently released the design of new combat uniforms, drafted by NIFT, which also does not match the uniforms seen in the viral video (here and here). This strongly indicates that the video has been manipulated or digitally created.
To verify whether the video was AI-generated, we ran it through AI detection tools such as Hive and Deepfake-o-meter. Both tools strongly flagged the video as AI-generated. The inconsistencies observed in the video, along with the AI detection results and the absence of any credible reports supporting such an incident, confirm that the video is digitally created and not a real event.
To sum up, this video showing Indian Army personnel saying that the Pakistani Army is dangerous in a war zone is AI-generated.
