In the context of Arvind Kejriwal’s rally organised in Gujarat for the upcoming assembly elections, a purported video of ‘ABP News’ Channel is being shared on social media with a claim that in view of huge crowds at rally, now even the Godi media has to show the truth. The video highlights the failures of BJP government and shows people supporting AAP. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.
Claim: Video of ‘ABP News’ supporting Kejriwal’s AAP in upcoming Gujarat elections.
Fact: The Original video was uploaded on 16 October 2022 by ‘ABP News’ YouTube channel. Original video doesn’t support the Kejriwal’s ‘IB Report’ claim but checks it. Except for the Anchor’s introduction, the narration and the visuals including the overlaid text are edited in the viral video. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
We searched the internet with relevant keywords and found that the original video was uploaded on 16 October 2022 by ‘ABP News’ on its YouTube Channel with the title, “What is the truth of Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘IB report’ claim? Watch this Ground report | Gujarat Election”.
We, then compared both the videos and found that the narrator’s voice is entirely different in both the videos. The first 33 seconds in the viral video is taken from the ‘ABP News’ Original video (0:11 to 0:56). But when the narration begins, audio, visuals and overlaid text changed completely. Moreover, in the original video, one can see people supporting AAP, BJP, and Congress. While the fake video shows only the opinions of AAP supporters. Further research revealed that the profile of this Facebook user, who shared the viral video says ‘Digital Creator’ and posted some altered content earlier too.
To sum it up, this news clipping shared in the name of ‘ABP News’ is fabricated.
