A video is being shared on social media in which a strange creature, allegedly a ghost, appears out of thin air and hovers on a pickup truck. The post description says that this incident really happened in Karnataka’s Mudigere. Let’s verify this video through this article.

Claim: Visuals of a ghost that appeared near a tea stall in Karnataka’s Mudigere.

Fact:  The visuals that appear in the video are created using VFX. A VFX breakdown of the video in the post is available on Youtube. There are no news reports regarding a ghost sighting in Mudigere. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

We did a basic keyword search on the internet to know of any news reports regarding a ghost sighting in Karnataka’s Mudigere, Chikmagalur district. But we did not find any relevant details.

To further our search, we used a keyframe from the video and performed a reverse image search. The search led us to a Youtube video titled – ‘VFX tutorial | flying witch caught on camera Cinema 4d and after effects.’

This tutorial consists of the visuals from the video uploaded in the viral post. The original video was created by a visual artist named Joseph Njovu. Based on the about section of the Youtube channel – ‘Joseph Njovu visuals’  to which this video is uploaded, it is a visual effects tutorial channel.

In the VFX breakdown video, the creator sliced through the process by which he created this VFX video using the tools Cinema 4d and After Effects. You can watch the full video here.

To sum up, the viral post falsely claims a VFX video created by Joseph Njovu as a visual of a ghost that was sighted in Karnataka’s Mudigere.
