A photo is shared on social media claiming it as a picture of a Muslim shrine located at old Delhi railway station. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.
Claim: Photo of a Muslim shrine located at old Delhi railway station platform.
Fact: Photo shared in the post shows the Line Shah Baba tomb constructed on the Prayagraj (Allahabad) railway station platform. It is not located at the old Delhi railway station. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post, a similar photo was found in old social media posts made by few users. They can be seen here and here. These users claim it as the visual from Prayagraj (Allahabad) railway station in Uttar Pradesh.
When we searched using these keywords, we found a similar picture in ‘The Times of India’ article published on 27 April 2020. It is mentioned as the picture shot at Prayagraj (Allahabad) railway Junction on 26 April 2020. Similar images are shared in the articles published BBC, The Hindu, and Business Standard websites.
Also, similar images are available on ‘Getty’ image sharing website. They can be seen here, here and here. In the description of one of the photos, it is mentioned that the Indian Muslim devotees break their Ramdan fast outside the Shah Baba Mosque at Allahabad railway station junction.
Further search about ‘LINE SHAH BABA’ on Google led us to multiple results stating that the religious structure is actually a Mazaar of Line Shah Baba present on the Platform No.1 of Prayagraj railway station. Multiple images and videos of the structure can be found on Google Maps. A live video recording showing the railway station and the Line Shah Baba Mazaar was uploaded by the YouTube channel ‘MNC INDIA NEWS’. ‘NYOOOZ UP- Uttarakhand’ has also uploaded a video on their YouTube channel explaining the history of the Line Shah Baba Dargah present on Prayagraj railway station platform.
To sum it up, image of the Line Shah Baba Dargah present on Prayagraj railway station is falsely portrayed as a Muslim shrine located at the old Delhi railway station.
