Performing a reverse image search using the keyframes of the viral video led us to a news report by the weather channel on 14 May 2024. The article stated that the incident occurred in China.
Using this clue, we searched for the incident’s location using relevant keywords and language. Our search revealed that Chinese media (here and here) reported the incident in April 2024. According to these reports, on 23 April 2024, in Tangshan, Hebei Province, a surveillance camera recorded two food delivery workers as they narrowly escaped a falling tree on a rainy day.
To sum up, the incident of two men narrowly escaping the tree fall did not take place in Bengaluru.
