A post with the video of an accident in which a girl is seen hit by a car is being widely shared on social media with the claim that that the incident took place on the newly built cable bridge on Durgam Cheruvu, Hyderabad. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: Video of a first car accident which took place on Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge, Hyderabad.
Fact: The Telangana state police through a tweet stated that the accident did not take place on Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge and mentioned the video as fake. We found a few old social media posts which shared the same video, dating back to 2017. Hence this is an old video and the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Reverse image search of the keyframes of the video in the post led us to a few social media posts which shared the same video a few years back. We even found a Facebook post which shared this video back in 2017. With this, we can say for sure that the video is not new and has been circulating on the internet for a few years.
Further Google search led us to a tweet by Telangana State Police which categorically stated that the accident which seen in the video did not take place on Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge, and their tweet rated the news as fake.
To sum it up, an old & unrelated video of an accident is being falsely shared as an accident that took place on Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge in Hyderabad.
