These viral videos, allegedly showing Indian journalists reporting that NDA leaders funded Pakistan’s political party PTI, are fake

The results of the Bihar Assembly elections were announced on 14 November 2025, with the BJP-led NDA winning 202 of the 243 seats. Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister for the 10th time on 20 November 2025 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Amid these developments, several videos are circulating on social media claiming to show senior Indian journalists reporting that key Bihar NDA leaders, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Upendra Kushwaha, are under investigation for allegedly funding Pakistan’s political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Let’s verify the claims made in these posts in this article.

Claim: The videos show senior Indian journalists reporting that key Bihar NDA leaders are under investigation for allegedly funding Pakistan’s political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Fact: None of these journalists made any such statement, and no credible news outlet has reported any investigation into Bihar NDA leaders for funding Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf. The viral clips are digitally manipulated, using AI-generated/deepfake audio added to unrelated original videos. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Video 1

In this video, Journalist Ravish Kumar is heard claiming that central agencies are investigating whether Bihar NDA leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Upendra Kushwaha, funded Pakistan’s political party PTI, which he says is involved in a digital war against the Pakistani Army. He questions whether this alleged funding aimed to create political unrest in Pakistan and whether the votes of Indian citizens were used to influence another country’s politics, while criticising the government’s silence on the matter.

To verify the claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords, but did not find any reports of journalist Ravish Kumar making any such statement.

We then conducted a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to the original video uploaded on 20 November 2025 on the YouTube channel ‘Ravish Kumar Official,’ titled “BJP bows down to Nitish, gets power but not rule” In the original video, Ravish Kumar discusses the formation of the new Bihar government and the political situation surrounding Nitish Kumar’s 10th swearing-in as Chief Minister. At no point does he mention NDA leaders’ funding of Pakistan’s PTI. This confirms that the viral audio was digitally added to an unrelated video of Ravish Kumar.

Suspecting the video to be doctored, we analysed the viral clip using multiple AI voice detection tools, including Hive AI and Hiya, both of which indicated that the voice in the video is likely AI-generated/deepfake. This further confirms that the viral video is fake and digitally manipulated, with the original visuals paired with fabricated audio.

Video 2

In this video, journalist Shiv Aroor is heard alleging that top Bihar NDA leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Upendra Kushwaha, have allegedly funnelled money to Pakistan’s political party, PTI. He claims this was done to destabilise the Pakistani Army and create a narrative of political victory for Prime Minister Modi.

We did not find any reports of journalist Shiv Aroor making these statements.

We noticed that the viral video carries the NDTV logo on the top-right corner and the India Matters logo on the top-left corner, which is the show hosted by Shiv Aroor. We checked the entire playlist of India Matters and found no segment referencing any investigation into PTI funding. We also found several videos (here, here, and here) of Aroor in the same attire, but in none of them did he mention top Bihar NDA leaders allegedly funnelling money to Pakistan’s political party, PTI.

Suspecting the video to be doctored, we analysed the viral clip using multiple AI voice detection tools, including Hive AI and Hiya, both of which indicated that the voice in the video is likely AI-generated / deepfake.

We conducted a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to the original video uploaded on 15 November 2025 on the Firstpost YouTube channel, titled “Trump Eyes Latin American Deals to Reduce Food Prices | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G” In the original programme, Palki Sharma Upadhyay discusses national and international developments, including India–China border strategy, the Russia–Ukraine conflict, US military operations in the Caribbean, China’s economic slowdown, Wall Street market losses, the NDA’s Bihar election victory, Delhi’s pollution crisis, Japan’s work culture debate, and the rise of AI-generated music. At no point does she mention NDA leaders allegedly funding Pakistan’s political party PTI.
