A video going viral on social media (here, here, and here) claims to show scuba divers exploring the remains of Ram Setu. It also features visuals of carved stones, idols, and other ancient artifacts. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.
Claim: The video features scuba divers exploring the remnants of Rama Setu.
Fact: The video is AI-generated and was created by a digital creator. AI detection tools confirmed it as artificially generated. There have been no recent scuba diving explorations of Rama Setu. The last significant scientific study involved satellite mapping, not underwater diving. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
We conducted an internet search using relevant keywords to verify the viral claim and found that as of April 2025, there have been no recent reports of scuba divers exploring Rama Setu. The last major underwater study was proposed in 2021 by the National Institute of Oceanography to determine its age and origin. In July 2024, ISRO scientists, using NASA’s ICESat-2 satellite, created the first detailed undersea map of Rama Setu, providing new insights into its structure. While these efforts have advanced scientific understanding, no scuba diving explorations have been reported recently.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the same video uploaded on 27 March 2025 on the Instagram handle @bharathfx (Bharath FX), who identifies as a digital creator. The post’s description revealed that the viral video was created using AI-generated visuals.
To further verify, we used the Hive AI detection tool, which determined with 99.7% confidence that the video was generated using artificial intelligence.
To sum up, the viral video showing scuba divers exploring the remnants of Rama Setu is AI-generated
