The video showing a tiger outside a woman’s home is not from India, it is from the wild pet collection of a Russian animal keeper
A video (here, here and here) is going viral on social media showing a person unlocking a door with a key. As they open it, two glowing eyes of a tiger appear. The person quickly shuts the door in shock. The video claims that a woman in India found a tiger right outside her home. Let’s find out the truth behind it.
Claim: Video shows a woman in India discovering a tiger outside her home.
Fact: The video is actually from Russia, not India. It was originally uploaded by Yara Goryanskiy, a wildlife enthusiast from Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Instagram on 30 January 2025. The footage was recorded from inside his home and has no connection to any woman or India. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
To verify the video’s authenticity, we performed a reverse image search on Google. This led us to the same video on the YouTube channel of popular American singer and dancer Jason Derulo. The video was posted on 22 February 2025, with the caption: ” Tiger! #GotPermissionToPost From @Yara_Goryanskiy #SlowLow“
From the YouTube video caption, we searched for Yara Goryanskiy a man who lives in Saint Petersburg, Russia and owns several wild animals, including tigers, wild cats, bears, and wolves. We found his Instagram and YouTube handles, and on his YouTube channel, he uploaded the same video on 08 February 2025. The caption, written in Russian, roughly translates to “When you enter the wrong door.”
On his Instagram handle, he uploaded the same video on 30 January 2025, which gained 94 million views. Previously, he went viral (here and here) in January 2024 for playing with a lion cub, and his Instagram is filled with similar videos featuring wild animals.
To sum up, the claim that a woman found a tiger outside her home in India is false. The video actually features a man from Russia.
