We received a video via our WhatsApp tipline (+91 92470 52470), which appears to be a clipped segment from a podcast hosted by journalist Sushant Sinha, featuring former NSG commando Lucky Bisht. In the viral clip, they are seen discussing the recent Pahalgam attack, with Bisht making sensational claims, alleging that the attack was staged, that Indian Rafale jets were shot down by Pakistani forces, and that Pakistan possesses missiles capable of striking from Delhi to Udhampur. We also found similar versions of this clip circulating on social media (here and here), often amplified by pro-Pakistani accounts. Let’s verify the truth behind this video.
Claim: The video shows journalist Sushant Sinha and former NSG commando Lucky Bisht discussing the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor in a podcast.
Fact: The video is a deepfake. The original podcast, uploaded on 08 November 2024, months before the April 2025 Pahalgam attack — contains no such claims. Hive’s deepfake detector confirmed with 99% likelihood that the audio in the viral clip is AI-generated and not authentic. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
While examining the viral video, it became evident that the audio and lip movements were not properly synchronised, a common sign of video manipulation. Both individuals are seen wearing the same attire as in the viral clip, confirming the source. The original podcast was uploaded to Sushant Sinha’s official YouTube channel on 08 November 2024, with the title: “Modi का आदमी है Lawrence Bishnoi? We reviewed the entire video but found no evidence of the sensational claims made in the viral clip. In fact, the full podcast does not contain any discussion about the Pahalgam attack. Moreover, the podcast predates the Pahalgam incident, which occurred in April 2025, making it clear that the viral video is misleading and doctored.
