A video showing a man wearing a burqa in police custody is going viral on social media (here, here, and here) with the claim that a Muslim man accused of sexually assaulting a minor was arrested in Vrindavan after removing his burqa. The post further alleges that he sexually assaulted a minor in Dholpur, Rajasthan, under the pretext of offering her a job. Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: The video shows a Muslim man accused of sexually assaulting a minor being arrested in Vrindavan in a burqa-clad attire.
Fact: The video shows the arrest of Rambharose alias Rajendra Singh Sisodia, a dismissed Rajasthan Armed Constabulary personnel, in Vrindavan. He is accused of sexually assaulting a minor in Dholpur, Rajasthan, after luring her under the pretext of offering a job. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing a burqa and had disguised himself to evade capture. The video and related posts do not identify him as Muslim, and the claim that the accused is a Muslim is fake, as confirmed by Dholpur SP Vikas Sangwan. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
We noticed that the viral video carried the Times Now Navbharat logo, so we reviewed the channel’s social media handles and found that the same video was uploaded to their Facebook and X accounts on 31 December 2025. The post stated that police had arrested a wanted criminal in Vrindavan. It is alleged that he had sexually assaulted a minor girl in Dholpur, Rajasthan, under the pretext of offering her a job. The video and the post do not mention the accused’s religion or identify him as Muslim.
We then conducted a Google search using relevant keywords and found multiple media reports (here, here, here, and here). According to these reports, Rambharose alias Rajendra Singh Sisodia, a dismissed Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) personnel, allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl on 15 December 2025 in Dholpur, Rajasthan, after luring her under the pretext of offering her a job. Following the assault, he fled and repeatedly changed attire, including wearing a burqa and lipstick, and at times posing as a VIP or senior police officer, to evade capture while police traced him across Agra, Lucknow, and Gwalior. An extensive manhunt led to his arrest in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, on 30 December 2025, following a tip-off. Police stated that Sisodia had previously been dismissed from the RAC due to an earlier POCSO case and faced multiple harassment allegations. A reward of ₹10,000 had been announced for his arrest, and his house was demolished on 26 December 2025. After his arrest, the police paraded him through the streets of Dholpur while he was dressed in a burqa.
We also found that the Dholpur Police’s Facebook account posted a video on 30 December 2025 showing Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan briefing about the case. SP Sangwan explained that the accused, Rambharose alias Rajendra Singh Sisodia, had lured the victim by deceiving her father with a false promise of a job in the railway police. He also highlighted that Sisodia had a history of similar offences and evaded capture by frequently changing locations and attire. The briefing emphasised the coordinated efforts of multiple police units, which used both technical data and human intelligence to track the fugitive across several states before his arrest in Vrindavan while attempting to hide in women’s clothing.
Speaking to Vishwas News, Dholpur Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan stated that the accused in this case has been identified as Rambharose alias Rajendra Singh Sisodia, son of Janak Singh, and confirmed that the viral claim is fake.
To sum up, the accused in the sexual assault of a minor in Dholpur, Rajasthan, after luring her under the pretext of offering a job, is not Muslim.
