A video (archived) is being shared on social media with a claim that the government has issued an official notification on the official website of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PM-JAY) scheme for the recruitment of over one lakh Ayushman Mitras. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: The government has issued an official notification on the official website of Ayushman Bharat for the recruitment of over one lakh Ayushman Mitras.
Fact: No such notification for the recruitment of over one lakh Ayushman Mitras was issued by the government on the official website of Ayushman Bharat. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has also clarified the same. The qualification details given about the recruitment of Ayushman Mitras/ Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras are wrong. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched for the recruitment notification on the official website of Ayushman Bharat, no such official notification was found. It was found that ‘State Health Agency (SHA)/Hospitals will have the flexibility to recruit PMAM through third-party agency/agencies or through any other mechanism for public facilities.’ More information regarding the recruitment of Ayushman Mitras/ Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAM) can be read here.
Also, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that no such recruitment notification was issued by the government.
In the video, it is mentioned that illiterates, 8th class pass and 10th class pass people can also apply for the post of Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras. But, in the ‘Guidelines for Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra (PMAM)’ document, it is mentioned that the applicant should have ‘completed 10+2 from a recognized institution (Preferably Graduate)’. The qualifications required for Ayushman Mitras as given by the Madhya Pradesh government can be found here (‘Diploma in Nursing/Graduate degree from a recognized university’).
Also, the Ayushman Mitras’ salary mentioned in the video is not correct. The Uttar Pradesh government recently increased the salary of Ayushman Mitras in the State from 5000 rupees to 10,000 rupees.
To sum it up, the ‘Ayushman Mitra Recruitment 2020’ notification in the posted video is fake. No such notification for the recruitment of over one lakh Ayushman Mitras was issued by the government on the official website of Ayushman Bharat.
