Sculpture inside an Indonesian Hindu temple is shared as that excavated near Turkey -Syria border

A photo is being shared on social media claiming it as a 3,200 years old Lord Narasimha sculpture, found during the excavations near the Turkey-Syria border. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: 3,200 years old Lord Narasimha sculpture was found during the excavations near the Turkey-Syria borders.

Fact: This sculpture was constructed inside the ‘Pura Dalem & Pura Penataran Desa Adat Kuta’ Hindu temple in Bali, Indonesia. This sculpture was not excavated near the Turkey-Syria border. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post, a similar sculpture photo was found published in a tourist website, ‘VIRTOURIST.com’. According to the description on this website, this sculpture was constructed inside a Hindu temple in Bali, Indonesia.

On searching for the Bali Hindu temple for this sculpture, it is found out that this sculpture was constructed inside the ‘Pura Dalem & Pura Penataran Desa Adat Kuta’ Hindu temple near the Kuta beach in Bali. A similar photo of the sculpture is found in Google Maps pictures of ‘Pura Dalem & Pura Penataran Desa Adat Kuta’. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the sculpture photo shared in the post is related to a Hindu temple in Indonesia.

To sum it up, an Indonesian Hindu temple sculpture falsely shared as the 3,200 years old lord Narasimha statue excavated at the Turkey-Syria border.
