A video (here, here and here) allegedly showing three men kidnapping a burqa-clad woman is being widely shared on social media, with claims that three Hindu men—Ankit Tiwari, Abhinav, and Raju—abducted a Muslim woman named Gulfisha in Rajasthan. The post further alleges that the woman was sexually assaulted and murdered by these men. Let’s verify the accuracy of this claim.
Claim: Video of three Hindu boys kidnapping a Muslim girl in Rajasthan.
Fact: This is a scripted video from Bangladesh. It does not show any real incident that happened in Rajasthan, India. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
First, we conducted an internet search using the names mentioned in the viral post to check if any such incident had recently occurred in Rajasthan. However, we couldn’t find any reports confirming the claim.
Next, we performed a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video and discovered earlier uploads of the same footage by several Bangladeshi users (here and here) dating back to January 2025. We reached out to Bangladeshi fact-checker Tausif Akbar, who assisted us in identifying the original uploader of the video. A Facebook page called Laughing Chat 2, based in Gazipur, Bangladesh, originally uploaded the video (archive) on 21 January 2025. We also found another video filmed at the same location, uploaded on their page on 17 January 2025.
Additionally, the intro of the Facebook page states that their videos are created for entertainment purposes and should not be taken seriously, indicating that these are scripted videos.
We then reviewed other videos on the page and found that one of the men seen in the viral video frequently appears in other scripted videos (here, here, here, here and here). When we contacted the page administrators, they confirmed that the video was scripted and did not depict a real incident.
To sum up, a scripted video from Bangladesh was falsely shared as a real incident of Hindus kidnapping a Muslim woman in Rajasthan.
