Another video is being shared on social media claiming it as the latest visuals of hundreds of Muslims offering Namaz in a FIFA World Cup stadium in Qatar. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Recent video showing mass Namaz offering at a FIFA World Cup stadium in Qatar.

Fact: The video shared in the post shows old visuals of Muslims offering namaz at the Kazan stadium in Russia. The video does not show any latest visuals from the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found published by ‘The Message of Islam’ YouTube channel on 10 June 2019. This YouTube channel described it as the visuals of a mass gathering offering Namaz in the Kazan stadium in Russia. Similar visuals were seen when 10 thousand Muslims gathered for the fourth Republican Iftar at the Kazan Arena stadium in June 2016.

On 20 November 2022, during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 tournament at the Al Bayt stadium in Qatar,  Qatari YouTuber Ghanem Al-Moftah recited the verses of Holy Quran in the presence of actor Morgan Freeman. News reports related to the inaugural ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 tournament can be seen here and here. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post shows old visuals of Namaz offerings at the Kazan stadium in Russia, not from the FIFA World Cup venue in Qatar.

To sum it up, old video from Russia is shared as visuals of Namaz offered at the FIFA World Cup stadium in Qatar.
