Fact: This video shows an old incident that took place in the Rohitpur area in Keraniganj, Bangladesh. In March 2021, on the Dhaka-Nawabganj Road, a speech-impaired woman was thrown out from a bus for not paying the bus fare. Bangladesh’s Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team had immediately arrested the bus driver and cleaner involved in this incident. The video shared in the post is from Bangladesh and has nothing to do with the ongoing Hijab row in India. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found published by the ‘Dhaka Post’ news channel on 08 March 2021. ‘Dhaka Post’ reported in the video that a speech-impaired woman was thrown out of a bus for not paying the bus fare. This incident reportedly took place at Rohitpur area on the Dhaka-Nawabganj Road in Keraniganj, Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team immediately arrested the driver and helper of the ‘N Malik’ transport bus for pushing a woman out from the running bus. RAB reportedly seized the bus from which the woman was pushed out. Reporting the details of the incident, several Bangladesh news websites published articles in March 2021.
